Kacey Musgraves features in this Hatch Show Print poster commemorating the exhibit Kacey Musgraves: All of the Colors at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
The poster's design is a contemporary interpretation of classic mid-twentieth century show poster style, including wood type and a photoplate of Kacey Musgraves. The colors printed in the background are achieved through a split-fountain effect, a technique in which the inking rollers have multiple colors of hand-mixed ink applied to them, one color next to the other, so that when the press is turned on and the rollers turn and oscillate, the printed result is a rainbow of colors.
With two passes through the press to create two split-fountain effects in two different directions, the double rainbow background was then completed with a final pass for the image of Kacey Musgraves and the vintage wood type.
